Hospital and Outpatient Shadowing
The Florence program offers diverse shadowing opportunities in both medical and surgical fields at Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Careggi, a historic hospital dating back to the 14th century.
Now a modern, cutting-edge facility, Careggi is home to one of the region’s largest emergency departments and offers a wide range of specialties. It also serves as a major research and teaching center, closely affiliated with the University of Florence—many of its doctors also teach there.

*Note that program start date listed is always a Sunday and your housing is available from that day. The first day of shadowing is the Monday after move in day. The last day of the program stated is always a Saturday and housing is booked for you up until this morning. The last day of shadowing is the Thursday of that week. The last Friday is kept for final packing and personal tasks, therefore you can checkout on Friday instead of Saturday if that is preferable for you.
