Arcadia Programs
Hospital Shadowing and Seminar Class
The 4 and 5 week programs for credit offer you a chance to combine your shadowing experience with a seminar course offered by Arcadia University.
Gain insight into your individual, unique psychometric profile and intercultural competence – a valuable outcome for navigating your professional progress, networks, and personal growth in the future.
Shadow and make your credit count
This dynamic experiential education course provides the academic structure to maximize your medical shadowing experience and connect it to both your course of study and career aspirations through exploring intercultural work experiences, amplifying personal development, and enriching both your professional network and skill set.
The classes will be held online in the afternoon and will complement, enrich, and contextualize the clinical experience students gain at the hospital.
You will receive guidance on what to observe, and you will have opportunities to reflect both individually and collectively on your observations.
The class will give you an opportunity to gain insight into your individual, unique psychometric profile and intercultural competence through a development workshop – a valuable outcome for navigating your professional progress, networks, and personal growth in the future.
In addition to guided self-reflection and group discussions, part of the course will focus on building your own application portfolio, including a resume, public profile, cover letter, and application essay targeted to your preferred career in healthcare.
This portfolio will be useful for your graduate school application, job applications, and other career and academic opportunities you wish to pursue.
