Hospital and Outpatient Shadowing
The Rome program offers hands-on shadowing in both surgical and medical fields at top healthcare institutions.
At Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital (JCI-accredited), you’ll explore over 20 specialties and cutting-edge research. Fondazione G.B. Bietti IRCCS provides in-depth exposure to advanced eye care and ophthalmology research. Fellows may also shadow at the Doctors in Italy Spanish Steps Clinic, where you’ll observe patient care in English and gain insight into alternative healthcare careers.
Available fields include General Surgery, Gynecology, Radiology, Biomedical Engineering, and Cosmetic Medicine.

*Note that program start date listed is always a Sunday and your housing is available from that day. The first day of shadowing is the Monday after move in day. The last day of the program stated is always a Saturday and housing is booked for you up until this morning. The last day of shadowing is the Thursday of that week. The last Friday is kept for final packing and personal tasks, therefore you can checkout on Friday instead of Saturday if that is preferable for you.
