The Doctors in Italy Scholarships recognize and support students who have shown an international mindset and a passion for medicine, facilitating their participation in the Doctors in Italy Fellowship Program, a study abroad opportunity specific for their career goals.


A limited number of scholarships are made available to selected applicants. If you wish to apply for a scholarship, check the requirements and procedure outlined below. Other forms of financial aid may become available throughout the year.

Merit Scholarship
$500/ 00
  • GPA: 3.8 or more
  • Deadline: March 23 2021
  • Requirement: demonstrated committment to exceptional academic results
Diversity Scholarship
$1000/ 00
  • GPA: 3.5 or higher
  • Deadline: March 23 2021
  • Requirement: contribute to the cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of the Program

How to apply

  1. Complete your application for a Doctors in Italy Fellowship Program, choosing between 2 week, 3 week and 5 week programs.
  2. You will hear back about your application and, if you are accepted, you’ll be invited within 2 weeks to enroll.
  3. Pay the €300 deposit to secure your spot and proceed with any following step you are invited to complete.
  4. Send an email in response to your invitation to apply, requesting to be considered for a scholarship, and specifying which scholarship you wish to apply for. You will receive instructions on how to submit the documents.

What you will need to provide

  1. A signed letter of request, with your full name and details
  2. A personal statement brief (up to 2 pages) describing how your life experiences have shaped your perspectives and values, why you are committed to a career in medicine and your plans after graduation
  3. Academic transcripts confirming that you are enrolled and current GPA
  4. A video (between 1 and 2 minutes in length) that explains what drives you towards medicine, what areas of medicine are you mostly interested in and why you choose Rome.
