Burlo Garofolo Pediatric Institute
The Trieste program offers an invaluable shadowing opportunity at the esteemed Burlo Garofolo Institute, a nationally renowned hospital that specializes extensively in pediatric care and the welfare of maternity and women’s health. It provides high-quality hospitalization and care services to minors, pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and women with gynecological conditions, both Italian and foreign citizens.
With a strong emphasis on the organization of healthcare services, the institution continuously refines care models to meet evolving patient needs and industry standards. Housing in Trieste
The housing option in Trieste, offered to students in the Doctors in Italy Fellowship program, provides a safe and central location for a comfortable stay. The spacious room is well-equipped with modern amenities, including air conditioning and a private bathroom. The hotel’s recent renovation offers contemporary features, ensuring a pleasant living space and secure environment. Its central location grants easy access to the city’s attractions and amenities, allowing students to explore the city conveniently, focus on their shadowing and immerse themselves in the local culture. The friendly and supportive hotel staff enhances the overall fellowship experience for participants.

*Note that program start date listed is always a Sunday and your housing is available from that day. The first day of shadowing is the Monday after move in day. The last day of the program stated is always a Saturday and housing is booked for you up until this morning. The last day of shadowing is the Thursday of that week. The last Friday is kept for final packing and personal tasks, therefore you can checkout on Friday instead of Saturday if that is preferable for you.
